a few sprinkles of genius with a chance of doom.

Hey all, apologies about the lack of updates, but as with every blog here's your JOTB:
The LAPD, the FBI and the CIA are all trying to prove that they are the best at apprehending criminals. The President decides to give them a test. He releases a rabbit into a forest and each of them has to catch it. The CIA goes in. They place animal informants throughout the forest. They question all plant and mineral witnesses. After three months of extensive investigation, they conclude that rabbits do not exist. The FBI goes in. After two weeks with no leads, they burn the forest, killing everything in it -- including the rabbit -- and make no apologies. "The rabbit had it coming." The LAPD goes in. They come out two hours later with a badly beaten bear. The bear is yelling, "Okay, okay, I'm a rabbit, I'm a rabbit."
...Anyways, here's what's up. Pittsburgh is rockin! I just started classes last week (25th ofAugust) and they are okay so far. My professors are all very intelligent and (thankfully) speak English well; i understand the above-stated fact isn't necessarily true across other institutions. I have class at 8:30 everyday, which isn't as bad as it sounds because i have my schedule set that i'm done by 12:30 at the latest and have the rest of day off. Living in the new dorm (appropriately named "New House" at that, which, on the side note, dominated House Wars) certainly has perks. We have slightly smaller rooms, but the entire building is A/Ced, which rocks and we all have individual AC/Heating Units in our room. The SHS program, consisting of 61 people simultaneously enrolled in dual colleges, owns the 5th floor of New House. We're pretty much a mini-frat / sorority, and having our own two lounges to our floor and our own floor study room kicks much ass. I've met a lot of new people here, and they are all pretty cool (and smart). Although i do miss all of you back in Omaha, we will certainly have to hook up when i come home for thanksgiving (the 25th-30th); another thing i miss is the midwest mentality: the friendliness and smooth pace of life. College has rocked so far though, i've been workin' hard and playin' hard ^_^ Ohyea, a few items of amusement i shall leave you before i head out and go to class: carbonated beverages (known as "pop" to us Omahans) is called "soda" here (which i refuse to comply with, since i'm Omaha-Stylee), "water fountains" are known as "bubblers" here on the east coast... (ridiculus i know), also the word "tour" is pronounced "tore" here. But anycase, i have my recitations to attend to, so i will catch up with y'all at a later time :)
